About AVGSL - The main goal of AVGSL is to insure that the players are in a fun, positive environment while learning and expanding their softball skills. AVGSL promotes a sense of belonging for everyone. We emphasize teamwork and the sense of individual success that contribute to team sports.

 

AVGSL Fields

AVGSL uses 4 primary fields -Graystone Elementary, Bret Harte Middle, Leland High School, and DeAnza Park for regular season games and practices.

Training

Santa Clara University Broncos Softball - To help develop the skills of all players and coaches in Almaden, the league has arranged clinics to sharpen both player and coaches softball techniques before the season begins. The sessions range from an all-skill clinic available to all age groups being presented by the coaches and players from Santa Clara University, to a coaches' pitching clinic where coaches will learn to coach their team's pitchers, to clinics specially designed for players who want to learn how to be a pitcher or catcher. Mark the days and times on your calendars, and we'll see you soon on the field.

Cutting Edge Softball - Cutting Edge Softball is an independent company dedicated to being on top of the newest advancements in fast pitch softball. We are developing tomorrow’s players, “TODAY!” Cutting Edge Softball is providing innovative skills and instruction in (pitching, hitting and fielding). Affiliated Organizations

Amatuer Softball Association (ASA) --The Amateur Softball Association (ASA), a volunteer driven, not-for-profit organization based in Oklahoma City, OK, was founded in 1933 and has evolved into the strongest softball organization in the country. The ASA has many important responsibilities as the national governing body of softball in the United States, including regulating competition to insure fairness and equal opportunity to the millions of player who annually play the sport.

Police Athletic League(PAL) - The San Jose Police Activities League, known simply as PAL, was founded in 1967 with a few youngsters, a few dollars and dreams of assisting the youth in our community. What once was a dream is now a reality. Some 10,000 young people are currently participating in PAL programs. PAL's formula for success is simple. It consists of dedicated police officers and dedicated civilian volunteers working together for one cause - the development of our youth.

USA Softball - Home of The USA Women's National Softball Team and The USA Men's National Softball team.

Back Softball - The International Softball Federation’s (ISF) “Strategic Task Force” has already begun working toward getting women’s fast pitch softball reinstated [at the 2009 International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session in Copenhagen] to the programme of the Summer Olympics for the 2016 Games.
